Events and Member Engagement Manager

 Position:         Events and Member Engagement Manager

Salary Range:  $36,000 – $40,000 depending on experience

 Reports To:    President & CEO

 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt – Salaried

 CHAMBER MISSION STATEMENT:  Our job is to advocate, connect, educate and fight for businesses in the North Jefferson community and, in doing so, strengthen the communities we serve.

 

Work Hours-

  • 40 hours per week
  • Flexible work schedule depending on events
  • 1 Office Day / 4 Remote Days (Again, depending on event schedule)

 Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing, event management, non-profit administration or chamber of commerce operations. Other experience may be considered.
  • Proven track record of successfully planning and executing community or business events.
  • Experience managing social media platforms, digital campaigns, and brand communications.

Skills:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident public speaker and relationship builder
  • Creative thinker with demonstrated design skills (Canva is a MUST)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Workspace, and email marketing platforms (Mailchimp)
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships with staff, members, and community partners
  • Comfortable managing event logistics, sponsorship coordination, and marketing strategy simultaneously

Position Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities

 Event & Project Management

  • Assist President & CEO in developing and implementing marketing strategies across social media, email, print, and web platforms to promote Chamber programs and member engagement.
  • Design and produce branded marketing materials, event graphics, and digital content

using Canva and other design tools.

  • Update CRM system with member-specific information including calls, visits, emails, social media posts, etc.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute numerous Chamber events—including luncheons, ribbon cuttings, festivals, workshops, and special programs—to ensure seamless experiences for members, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Manage event logistics such as vendor coordination, venue setup, timelines, registrations, communications, and on-site flow while maintaining a high level of professionalism and hospitality.
  • Collaborate with Chamber leadership, municipalities, sponsors, and local businesses to develop event concepts, secure partnerships and sponsorships, and enhance community engagement and member value.
  • Oversee event promotion by working with marketing channels, creating materials, updating calendars, and ensuring consistent branding across social media, newsletters, and member communications.

Ambassador Program

  • Lead and oversee the Chamber Ambassador Program, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement of volunteer ambassadors who represent the Chamber at events and in the community.
  • Coordinate ambassador participation in ribbon cuttings, networking events, business visits, and outreach activities to strengthen member relationships and enhance visibility for Chamber initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain communication systems—such as monthly meetings, email updates, and tracking tools—to ensure ambassadors are informed, organized, and aligned with Chamber goals.
  • Monitor ambassador performance, track participation, and implement recognition strategies to maintain a motivated, high-performing team that supports membership growth and retention.

 Membership Services

  • Assist with welcoming and onboarding new Chamber members while maintaining accurate records in the CRM system and member tracker
  • Assist members with event promotion, advertising opportunities, and business development connections.
